Six Sigma beyond Manufacturing in IT Processes, IT Services and IT Products
Abstract
Any corporation that wants to survive, compete, and advance in the highly competitive business world of today must prioritise quality. Users, clients, or customers of the product determine its quality, not society at large. The goal is to reduce the number of errors or defects that a firm must manage and handle, not to fully eradicate them. Companies can adopt a methodical, all-encompassing strategy spanning top management all the way down to the operations level in managing daily activities with the aid of a relevant and adaptable quality improvement project. One of the cutting-edge approaches gaining traction in both IT and non-IT firms is Six Sigma. Six Sigma is no longer just a manufacturing-related approach.
