AI-Powered Smart Cities: Paving the Way for Sustainable Urban Development
Abstract
With rapid urbanization, smart cities are leveraging AI to enhance sustainability, efficiency, and quality of life. This paper examines how AI-driven solutions, such as intelligent traffic management, waste reduction, energy-efficient infrastructure, and predictive analytics, are shaping the future of urban development. It highlights the role of AI in optimizing resource consumption, reducing emissions, and promoting circular economy principles. Through real-world case studies, the study evaluates the impact of AI-driven smart city initiatives and addresses challenges such as data governance, privacy concerns, and equitable AI deployment. The paper concludes with recommendations for policymakers and urban planners to integrate AI for a sustainable future.
