Abstract

This research examines the challenges of selecting an appropriate Virtual Learning Environment, the design and development of the online course "Introduction to Computer Science," as well as the outcomes of the course's pilot testing. This course is taught to first-year faculty students. Online education is becoming increasingly popular in the age of mass higher education and lifelong learning. E-learning provides students with greater flexibility and freedom in terms of studying time and place. Incorporating E-learning into current educational systems raises significant concerns for institutions. Offering students an online course that is properly designed and developed to suit various levels of students and cater to various personal capabilities is a very difficult task, especially when the tutor and the students are involved.
