ISFET-based device for water quality monitoring

Abstract

A novel configuration for creating a water quality monitoring device utilising ISFET is given, which includes a low power CMOS Integrated "Ion Sensitive Field Effect transistor (ISFET) - Operational Amplifier. The primary emphasis of the research is on the modelling of power and performance analysis of an ISFET device utilised for water quality monitoring. This method can enhance device calibration across a wide range without the need of a high-speed digital processor. The usual device has a slow slew rate, however this unique design has a faster slew rate. A new slew rate enhancement (SRE) built into an ISFET that has no effect on the small signal frequency response. Tanner simulator version 15 for a 70nm CMOS is used to test the circuit's functionality.
