Sustainable Agriculture Practices: Balancing Food Security and Environmental Conservation
Abstract
As the global population continues to grow, the demand for food production poses significant challenges to environmental sustainability. This paper investigates sustainable agriculture practices that balance the need for food security with the imperative of environmental conservation. The study evaluates agroecological methods, precision farming, and regenerative agriculture as viable solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, preserving biodiversity, and enhancing soil health. Drawing on empirical data from diverse agricultural systems, the research highlights the potential of sustainable agriculture to contribute to SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 15 (Life on Land). The paper concludes with policy recommendations for scaling up sustainable farming practices worldwide.
