The Global Production Chain and e-SCM: A Research (Review) Paper
Abstract
The Global Supply Chain and e-SCM: A Research (Review) Paper Rising commodity costs, customer globalisation, labour interruptions, natural catastrophes, and continuously changing rules are putting immense strain on global supply networks and their companies. The issues in Supply Chain are as follows: Ensuring supply security will be a difficulty for most firms in the next years. It will be necessary to assess if advancements in management science and applications in supply chain management are actually strategic. The most important function in the Supply Chain Management concept is undoubtedly information transfer. It can take place via a variety of technologies, ranging from the most contemporary e-business applications or extranet, Electronic data exchange (EDI) systems, to the most classic communication methods like telephone, telex, or fax. EDI is the most researched technology.
